Portage-in-Motion Save the Base Campaign                        

Led the Portage-in-Motion Save the Base Campaign that involved the Province of Manitoba, Manitoba Chamber of Commerce, Union of Manitoba Municipalities, and City and Rural Municipalities of Portage la Prairie as a response to the Federal Government closure of Canadian Forces Base Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.  The lobbying campaign involved enabled Manitoba gain operating control of a valuable economic asset and save 600 jobs for the community.

Canada Trust Moran Real Estate

Provided professional management for a top producing real estate brokerage in the Canada Trust Franchise Network which included an action plan that established the company as a market leader in agricultural real estate.

Prepared a business plan for a ranching operation involved in the production of raw product for pharmaceutical development.

New Brunswick Salmon Growers’ Association                        

Provided professional management to the salmon farming industry, the largest food producing sector in Atlantic Canada valued at $200 million and employing 4,000 people, and worked with the sector to foster environmental responsibility, economic sustainability and the production of healthy, safe and affordable food.  Led the development of the Atlantic Canada Salmon.

Managed the development and preparation of a Feasibility Study–Business Plan Report on behalf of Portage la Prairie Heritage Inc. The study was a comprehensive review that resulted in a vision and a plan to create a railway centre and park to preserve the Canadian Pacific Railway Station in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Canada Candle Group                            
Designed a government and corporate relations strategy to assist the Group obtain federal government and corporate support for distribution and financing for the Canada Candle Project.  The project was presented to the Prime Minister's Office, the Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Bank of Montreal and the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for the Canada Post Corporation.

Ontario Petroleum Institute                                

Established the OPI, an industry association that represents the oil and natural gas exploration and production, hydrocarbon storage, and salt/solution mining industries in Ontario, as leading voice promoting the industry throughout North America as a viable stakeholder in the Ontario economy. 

Led the development and implementation of a strategic direction to stimulate exploration and inform and educate governments, stakeholders, partners, and members.

Developed a strategic plan that was used to position the not-for-profit corporation with its clients, stakeholders and the public as a leading edge environmental and sustainable development company.  Plan included the Green Globe Program, an environmental education initiative which was implemented into Manitoba schools.

Financial Services

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce
Managed a public relations campaign to inform the brokers in the real estate industry about the Bank's mortgage specialist services.  Designed and presented strategic communications seminars on business development to assist the Account Manager Group.
                               
Central Guaranty Trust            
Led the development and implementation of a business development action plan to market the trust company's products. The campaign was successful in establishing a new client base for the trust company and increased its sales 40% over a one year period.
                               
Federal Business Development Bank (Government of Canada)                            
Worked with the Manitoba/Saskatchewan Advisory Council to review policy and develop new lending practices in order for the Bank to respond to its critical loan arrears portfolio created by the recession of the early 1980's.                      

 

Federal Liberal Agency of Canada

Managed a yearly corporate fund-raising campaign that generated over 3 million dollars annually for the Liberal Party of Canada in Ontario, and directed all marketing, media relations and special events for the Laurier Club and the annual Prime Minister's Confederation Dinner.

Led the development and implementation of an Industrial Adjustment Agreement plan in partnership with the Federal and Provincial governments to deal with the effects of the plant closure in Manitoba that had resulted in the lay-off of approximately 200 employees.  The plan successfully assisted the employees with programs in education and training, financial consulting and job search support.

Government of Manitoba and City of Portage la Prairie

United Way
Led a Task Force which conducted a complete review of the United Way’s relationship with member agencies.  The review resulted in the re-writing of the agency agreement and the re-negotiation of new contract agreements with member agencies.  Facilitated negotiations for the acceptance of the Portage Women’s Shelter as a member agency.

David Thompson Health Trust
Managed a unique leading-edge entity established to help communities enhance health care through giving.  Led a review of the organization’s governance structure, a renewal of its strategic direction, and the implementation of a business plan to engage local health care organizations to develop their fund-raising capacity.
